In recent years, journalism has tried to adapt to profound economic and technological transformations. Rigour gave way to speed; the number of views became the main criteria for quality. This scenario opened a space for independent investigative journalism – for undertaking projects that delve into, contextualise and put stories into perspective – outside the traditional newsrooms.
Divergente is born of a desire to work outside the canons that nowadays rule the mainstream media, which by and large focus on selling content.
For this reason, we demand the time and space to explore the silences throughout the contemporary world and transform them into innovative narratives.
The projects we have worked on so far have been funded by European funds in support of investigative journalism. We continue searching for the path that will allow us to continue this journey, but in the meantime, we don’t want to stop.
So any support is very welcome. Can we count on you?
